The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) declared the results of the 2017 MBBS entrance exams today, June 15. The results are for the institute's MBBS courses in New Delhi, Patna, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar, Rishikesh, Bhopal and Raipur.

Candidates who appeared for the exams this year can check their marks online on aiimsexams.org and on the websites of other AIIMS institutes. The results for the exams, which were held on May 28, will be available only on the websites and will not individually be sent to candidates through email or SMS, reported Hindustan Times.

The shortlisted candidates will then have to attend the first counselling at AIIMS, New Delhi, that will be held between July 3 and 6.

The MBBS course spans a period of five and half years including a year of internship. At the end of the course, students are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

The MBBS entrance exam made quite some news in May after Anand Rai, who exposed the Vyapam case earlier, claimed that the AIIMS entrance papers had been leaked and also posted a few images of the question paper. Post the incident, AIIMS had constituted a committee to look into the matter and concluded that the question paper had not been leaked though some candidates in Uttar Pradesh had cheated during the exams, reported the New Indian Express.
