Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, which was released on Friday, October 28, has received mixed reviews from critics.

The film narrates a one-sided love story. Karan, who is known for narrating beautiful love stories that leave a lasting impact on the audience, has done it once again. Critics have also been lauding the music of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The actors have delivered stupendous performances. The film's stellar cast, fresh pairings, and exotic shooting locations make it a delightful watch. Ranbir and Aishwarya's sizzling chemistry has also been one of the major highlights of the film.

Produced by Dharma Production, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil also has Fawad Khan in a cameo role. Fawad has also done justice to his role.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil witnessed a major roadblock when the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) protested against the release of the film as it featured Pakistani actor Fawad. The opposition came in the wake of the Uri terror attack that killed 19 Indian Army jawans. However, it finally managed to get a green signal from the MNS a few days before its release.

We bring you some critics' verdict for the movie. See them below in the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil round-up:

Manjusha Radhakrishnan of Gulf News said: "Kapoor steals the thunder from the two women. His anguish and his propensity to wail when he's dumped makes him immensely lovable. Fawad Khan, who is written on the credit rolls as "special appearance" isn't given much heft to make his role special. His love story with Alizeh, which showed immense promise, seems to have been killed unceremoniously. Reserve this for a one-time watch."

Jyoti Sharma Bawa of Indian Express said: "ADHM is all about — people and relationships coming of age. The chemistry of all the couples is palpable, so is the hurt. Love comes in all shapes and sizes — sometimes it comes with violins, sometimes it shows you the middle finger. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is the latter, maybe that is why it feels so real."

Sweta Kaushal of Hindustan Times said: "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil offers little in terms of story and fails to get the audience empathise or feel for the characters and events in the movie. What it does offer is brilliance in the name of Ranbir and Anushka, some awe-inspiring shots of Aishwarya and Fawad and a very beautiful canvas as it is shot at exotic locales of London and Paris."

Ananya Bhattacharya of India Today said: "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a mish-mash of Karan Johar's own films; from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Kal Ho Naa Ho and everything else in between. The film is shot well. London and Paris both look gorgeous on the big screen. As do the lead actors. Karan Johar has moved out of his comfort zone for this story but this is no Bombay Talkies. In all, watch Ae Dil Hai Mushkil for the performances. And Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan."
