Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, opened on a grand note, despite having clashed at the box office with Ajay Devgn's action thriller Shivaay.

And now, director Karan Johar has released a deleted song sequence from the film, which seems to be attempt of the filmmaker to keep the buzz surrounding the film up and also pay a tribute to legendary actor Shammi Kapoor.

Karan took to his Twitter handle to share the deleted song. He captioned it saying, "Here's the deleted song from #ADHM! Thank you for the love, let's keep celebrating! #WithLoveFromADHM"

It is the title track of 1967 hit film An Evening In Paris starring Shammi Kapoor. While the song's audio has been kept intact, the video showcases the lead pair Ranbir and Anushka instead of the originally hero Shammi. In the clip, both Ayan (Ranbir) and Alizeh (Anushka) are seen enjoying and dancing on the streets of Paris.

Meanwhile, Johar's directorial venture has been raking in huge money not just in India but also in overseas market as well. It has collected Rs 84.75 in eight days at the Indian box office.

While Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is running successfully, it went through a lot of troubles before it managed to open in theatres.

Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) protested against the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil since it features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The protest came in response to the Uri attack that took the lives of 19 Indian soldiers followed by the ban on Pakistani artistes working in India.

They had also issued threats of vandalism to multiplex owners if they screened the film. It was only after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis intervened into the matter and Mukesh Bhatt, president of Film & Television Producers Guild of India, assured that the industry will not work with Pakistani artistes in the future, that the ban was lifted.
