Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) had ended the second weekend with a box office collection of Rs 97.15 crore nett at the domestic market. The film has now completed 11 days at the Indian box office and is very close to crossing Rs 100 crore. Ajay Devgn's Shivaay (Shivay) too was released on the same day and its collection stood at Rs 90 crore by the end of Monday.

It was expected that the nett domestic collection of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil would cross Rs 100 crore by the end of its second weekend, but the film apparently failed to do that by a small margin. The multi-starrer romantic drama had remained short of Rs 2.85 crore to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crore club by the end of Sunday.

While it collected Rs 6.55 crore on second Sunday, which is a pretty decent number, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil witnessed a fall in its collection on Monday, that is obvious. Early estimates suggest that the movie fell short of crossing Rs 100 crore by a very meager amount as it collected Rs 2.5 crore (approx). The film has already crossed Rs 200 crore gross at the worldwide box office, becoming one of the biggest hits of 2016.

On the other side, Shivaay had witnessed a good collection of Rs 7.08 crore nett on Sunday, which was higher than what Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had earned on the 10th day. The action thriller has taken its earning to Rs 90 crore by the end of Monday, with a collection of Rs 2.5 crore. Both the films collected almost at par on the 11th day.

With a strong star cast, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been having a fare business at both domestic and overseas box offices. The film has been having close competition from Ajay Devgn-starrer Shivaay but still managed to remain ahead of the latter in terms of box office collection. However, the collection of Shivaay has been quite steady and it is also marching fast towards the 100 crore club.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay enjoyed a rather smooth run at the box office as there has not been any major release after they hit the screens. However, Rock On 2 is slated to be released next Friday and that is likely to affect the two films' collection to some extent.
