The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reportedly detained three American teenage girls from Denver while they were attempting to flee to Syria to join ISIS.

The FBI is said to have intercepted the girls in Germany, after somebody close to the girls alerted the US officials of their plans.

According to an ABC News report, all three teen age girls are from Denver and they reportedly told the officers that they wanted to be in Syria "to fulfill" their Islamic vision.

The law enforcement officers claim that the teen girls aged between 15 and 16 were radicalised through online videos and messages of the group.

The ISIS recruiters then reportedly persuaded the girls to go to Germany. The girls, whose identities have been withheld, were waiting for further instructions from their recruiters, when they were intercepted by FBI.

"FBI Denver Division is aware of the situation and assisted with bringing the individuals back to Denver. The juveniles are safe and reunited with their families," FBI Denver spokeswoman Sue Payne said.

The ISIS recruiters in the past have been able to persuade several young teen girls to run away to Syria. It is believed that the ISIS members often woo young girls to become 'jihadi brides' by giving them false romantic ideas.

Earlier in April, FBI had detained Shannon Maureen Conley, another 19-year-old Denver, Colorado resident who fell in love with an ISIS militant online.

Conley was arrested at the Denver airport in April after trying to board a plane to meet her boyfriend. She is currently facing a five year jail term even after pleading guilty to "providing material support" to ISIS.

Reports suggest that hundreds of young girls have been tricked into running away to Syria by the ISIS recruiters. However, it is only after arriving there they realise that they end up being used as sex objects.

Last month, reports claimed that the two teen girls from Austria, who were turned into ISIS poster girls, have now called up their families. The teen girls, who reportedly now are pregnant, want to just come home as life is Syria much harsher and cruel then what they had imagined.
