Bajaj has introduced the 2018 models of its popular power cruiser, Dominar 400, in India with no change in the price tag. The new Dominar 400 will continue to be sold at Rs 1.42 lakh for the non-ABS version and Rs 1.56 lakh for the ABDS version (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

The 2018 model of Bajaj Dominar 400 gets cosmetic updates along with the addition of three new colours shades -- Rock Matte Black, Canyon Red and Glacier Blue. It now also features Gold Dust alloy wheels while all other technical specifications and the features remain unchanged.

Bajaj had launched the Dominar 400 in December 2016 to challenge the dominance of Royal Enfield in the cruiser segment. Although the Dominar 400 generated curiosity amongst the biking enthusiasts in the country, the model is yet to arrive as a serious challenger to Chennai-based niche bike maker Royal Enfield.

Dominar 400 clocks an average sale of around 1,500 units a month while the sales target for the Dominar 400 lies between 10,000 and 12,000 per month. It may be recalled that Royal Enfield holds over 80 percent of market shares in this segment with its average sales touching 50,000 units per month.

Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3cc 4-valve DTS-i liquid-cooled engine and churns out 34bhp and 35Nm of torque. The motorcycle can cruise from 0 to 100kmph in just 8.23 seconds. Bajaj's flagship motorcycle also boasts off full LED headlamp with vertical Auto Headlamp on (AHO), split reverse LCD display, twin channel ABS and slipper clutch.

It employs a large 43mm telescopic front fork with a dual spring mono suspension. The twin channel ABS is complemented with 320mm front disc and 230mm rear brakes. The bike measures 2,156 mm in length, 813 mm in width and 1,112 mm in height. It comes with a wheelbase of 1,452 mm and offers a 13-litre fuel tank.

Bajaj also exports the Dominar 400 to markets like Australia, Latin America and South East Asia.
