Ducati unveiled its 2016 line-up of motorcycles a day prior to the EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) which is better known as the Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy. Among the three new launches, one of the important unveils has been the new Scrambler that is now available with 400cc engine.
The 400cc Scrambler is christened as Scrambler Sixty2. The Sixty2 is a Ducati Scrambler that draws inspiration from youth street culture, skateboards, street food, pop music and the year 1962, (the year the very first Ducati Scrambler was launched) claims Ducati. The name of the motorcycle is a tribute to the important year of Ducati Scrambler motorcycle history.
Visually the Scrambler Sixty2 bears minimal changes against the 800cc Scrambler that is available in India. The Sixty2 features slim steel fuel tank with 14litre capacity. The tank will sport dedicated graphics and logos, and will be available in three exclusive colours -- Ocean Grey, Chignon Black and Atomic Tangerine. Additionally, the Scrambler Sixty2 is differentiated with 41mm front fork, steel tube swig arm and black silence cover.
The motorcycle is powered by 399cc Desmodronic air-cooled engine that develops 41hp. Rest of the details are under the wraps as of now. The motorcycle will weigh 167kg and the new Scrambler will feature ABS as standard.
The smaller Scrambler is definitely for emerging market of Ducati and in all probability India entry is not far. The estimated price for the 400cc Scrambler in India is in the range of Rs 4-5 lakh.
