Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car maker, is all set to repeat the success story of its hot hatch Swift as the company is preparing to launch the new avatar of the car in the country soon. Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift has been spied once again in the country ahead of the car's possible launch later this week.

Just last week, we saw an uncamouflaged prototype of the upcoming Swift facelift and now again here comes another set of spy shots the test drive costume on it.

Thanks to the folks at GaadiWaadi for the last set of images. Judging from the latest pictures, it looks like Maruti is ready to dispatch the new avatar of Swift facelift to its dealerships across the country for test drives.

As we know already, the styling of the new Swift facelift will not be different from the current version; however the car will parade new features and subtle cosmetic changes, which would make it different from the existing model.

Apart from the visual make- over, the new Swift is likely to receive the same tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engines of the current model.

The 1.2 litre four-cylinder petrol motor is tuned to generate 86bhp of power @6,200rpm and 114 Nm torque @4,000rpm, while the 1.3 litre four-cylinder DDiS diesel motor can produce 74bhp power @4,000rpm and 190nm peak torque @2,000rpm. Both the engines will come coupled to a five speed manual transmission. We also hear that the engines of new Swift could get mild tweak, so as to deliver a better fuel efficiency.

The new Swift facelift is likely to get a new front fascia with wider air dam, headlights and front bumper and there is also LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on mid and top-end variants. On the safety front, the car is likely to include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and front and side airbags.

Other speculated features of 2014 Maruti Swift facelift include reverse parking sensor, electrically adjustable ORVMs, keyless entry-and-go and fresh alloy wheels.

The car is expected to go on sale in the country by the end of October to cash in on the festive season. We do not yet know the pricing of new Swift, but we expect Maruti to price it aggressively to beat the competition in the lucrative market. Once it hits the market, the Swift facelift will take on the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, 2014 Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto EVO and Tata Bolt.
