2014 Mahindra Scorpio Gets Lowest Waiting Period of 2 Weeks

If you were thinking that Mahindra's new Scorpio will command a long waiting period in India as its demand increases, you are wrong.

Here is a good news for those who are planning to get their hands on to the steering wheel of the new avatar of iconic Scorpio.

A recent report claims that the SUV kingpin Mahindra has been able to keep its waiting time to a minimum for the latest offering Scorpio facelift even when it is getting good response from the auto lovers in the country.

A new Rushlane report reveals that all the variants of the new Scorpio are having only a minimum waiting period in the country, except the Four Wheel Drive (4WD). Scorpio 4WD has a waiting period of up to three months as the SUV is made based on the order.

Mahindra Scorpio S10, the high end variant is reportedly the most preferred model among all others and the waiting period for this is less than three weeks. Other variants of Scorpio are also getting good responses from the SUV fans and the waiting period is said to be the same for all.

Apparently, the body colours of the SUV also play a role in determining the waiting period. As per the report, the white Scorpio commands less waiting period than other colours like Red and Blue.

Launched on 25 September, Mahindra's new Scorpio comes with 2.5-litre 4 cylinder m2DiCr diesel and 2.2 litre mHawk engine under the hood. The base variant of the new Scorpio gets power from 2.5-liter four cylinder m2DiCr diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 75bhp @ 3,200rpm and a peak torque of 195Nm @ 1,400-2,200rpm, coupled to a five-speed manual transmissions.

Other variants S4, S6, S6+, S8 and S10 get the power from 2.2 litre mHawk engine that can churn out 120bhp @ 4,000rpm and 280nm @ 1,800 to 2,800rpm. Recently, the company revealed the accessory list for the new vehicle, which includes chrome package for grille, bonnet scoop, door handles, ORVMs, rear registration plate and rear bumper reflectors and there is also rear spoiler with integrated light, ski-rack, rain visor and rally fog lamps.
