Director Shankar has apologised on behalf of his team for manhandling two photo journalists on the sets of Rajinikanth's film 2.0 in Triplicane. He said the incident happened without his knowledge.

Two photographers were reportedly roughed up by the bouncers when they tried to take pictures of the cast and crew 2.0 in Triplicane. The two filed a complaint with the police and the news created la ot of buzz on social media. ANI tweeted: "Chennai: 2 photo journalists allegedly manhandled by bouncers during shoot of Rajinikanth's film 2.0 in Triplicane; Police complaint lodged."

Hours after the incident, director Shankar held a press meet at the Chennia Press Club and offered apology for the incident. A post on Shankar Fans Club‏ read: "Just In : Dir @shankarshanmugh meets the Press, asks Apology for attack on Journos & Mentioned this happened Without his Knowledge. #2point0"

The sequel of Endhiran is one of the most awaited Indian films in 2017. The movie has been creating buzz in the media for all good reasons since it was announced. This is for the first time, 2.0 is making headlines for a wrong reason.

2.0 is a science fiction film, written and directed by S Shankar and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner Lyca Productions. Rajinikanth is playing the dual roles of Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti in the movie, while Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson appear in key roles. The film is set to be released on October 18.
