ZTE is determined to carve out a prominent share for itself in the premium smartphone segment. If the latest rumours are to be believed, the Chinese smartphone maker's next flagship, Nubia Z11, will bring promising features that will help ZTE grab a significant chunk of the pie that is now shared by top players such as Apple and Samsung.

The ZTE Nubia Z11 details were leaked by an online tech site cnBETA.com along with some helpful press renders. The Nubia Z11 is said to feature a curved display, fingerprint sensor and full-metal body. Other key features were also revealed, suggesting the Nubia Z11 to be a good competition to upcoming 2016 flagships.

Samsung has already demonstrated the curved display screen in a smartphone in the Galaxy S6 Edge series but the Nubia Z11 pictures suggest a unique curve. While Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge series feature a curved edge design, ZTE will opt for a flat look at least on one side of the screen. For the curved display, ZTE is said to use its patented Frame interactive Technology (FiT) to carry out advanced gestures, The Indian Republic reports.

The fingerprint sensor will take its usual spot on the back of the Nubia Z11, just below the camera module. The full metal body will give it a premium look and feel that will appeal to many shoppers.

Other leaked specs of the Nubia Z11 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, microSD card support up to 128GB, 5.2-inch QHD display, 20.7MP primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, 13MP front camera and Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

ZTE is yet to confirm the release date of the Nubia Z11 but do not expect the handset anytime this year. Qualcomm's updated Snapdragon 820 is expected to launch in the first half of 2016, which means the Nubia Z11 will follow a later date.
