Asus on Thursday (6 August) launched two new ZenPad series tablets in India, along with three Zenfone 2 series phones.

"These brand-new innovations are each an empowering luxury that strikes the perfect balance of beauty, functionality and performance, and offers Indian consumers a premium user experience tailored to their individual mobile needs," he added.

The new ZenPad 7.0 and 8.0 come with similar hardware except screen size, cameras and battery. The former sports a smaller 7.0-inch display, 2mp camera on the back, VGA snapper on the front-side and a 13Wh Li-polymer cell. The ZenPad 8.0 flaunts a bigger 8.0-inch screen, a 5mp main camera, a 2mp front snapper and a 15.2Wh Li-polymer battery.
They both come with WXGA (1280x800p) LED Backlight display, 64-bit Intel Atom x3-series quad-core CPU, 1GB/2GB RAM, 8GB/16GB storage, 2mp camera, VGA camera on the front and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the box.
The company has incorporated DTS-HD 5.1 series premium sound system in the devices, they are the world's first tablets to boast this feature. DTS-HD Premium Sound transforms stereo audio into virtual surround sound, so that users can enjoy incredible, theater-quality audio right on ZenPad, claims the company.
