Yu Televentures Ltd (Micromax subsidiary) has taken a dig at its Chinese counter-part ahead of the company's new flagship Yutopia launch.
This is the second such salvo from Yu against OnePlus this month. Last week, YU was a bit subtle in its approach. The company indirectly mocked OnePlus for using more plastic and less metal in the recent flagship smartphone and confirmed that the company's new Yutopia will come with metal worthy of the tag of a true premium phone.
Now, YU (on Facebook) has further escalated the rivalry by directly mocking OnePlus 2's tagline- '2016 Flagship Killer' and the company's official motto –'Never Settle'.
YU's new teaser comes with a graphic picture of OnePlus 2 with a tag – 'Never Settle for 1080p' as the wallpaper, followed by the caption – "Calling a 1080p Display a 2016 Flagship killer? #WhySettle #YUTOPIA – Register Now", hinting Yutopia will boast a QHD (aka 2K: 2560x1440p) display.
The company has initiated a new campaign urging fans to start registering for YU Yutopia, which is expected to get launched soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
Other expected features of YU Yutopia:
Numerous reports have indicated that YU Yutopia might feature 5.2-inch display and come packed with 64-bit class Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 series Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) backed by sumptuous 4GB RAM, Cyanogen OS, 32GB inbuilt memory (expandable via microSD card). It is also rumoured to come packed with 21MP camera on the rear-side and a 8MP snapper in the front.
