Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has been off the radar for long and from the looks of it, he isn't back anytime soon.
While on a sabbatical, the singer-composer reportedly checked himself in a Chandigarh-based rehabilitation centre. "He told his team that he is taking a break to go home and spend time with his family. But instead, he checked himself into a rehab centre in Chandigarh in October," Mumbai Mirror quoted Yo, Singh's collaborator, as saying.
"We worked through the night on the lyrics of Aata Majhi Satakli. That was the last time I met him. I have never seen him use drugs while working. But the rest of the time he was always high," he added.
A week ago, there were reports of the actor battling with ill health due to drug abuse. However, his close friends and family members have denied such allegations. "Right now, he (Honey Singh) is physically and emotionally so weak that he often breaks down!," Wife Shalini told Bollywood Life.
Interestingly, there's another version of the Honey Singh rehab story in which he is told to have slipped into depression due to a slap-gate involving superstar Shah Rukh Khan. During "SLAM! The Tour", SRK reportedly planted a slap on the 31-year-old's face after which he went into his shell.
The "Aata Majhi Satakli" singer's wife, however, denied rumours saying he has been advised bed rest by doctors. "Neither of them may own up to it but I don't think Honey Singh will ever work with SRK again," said the collaborator. Yo also said how no one is waiting for the rap artist to back into action asserting that he would never want to work with him.
Additionally, Singh's spokesperson had some good news for the fans when he said that he would return soon. "Honey Singh was unwell and recovering at home in Delhi. He will be back soon."
