Year with Uber
Year with UberUber Blog

Every cab ride has a story to tell. Uber, one of the leading ride-sharing platforms in the world, had its share of achievements and controversies in 2017, but here's a look at the feats Uber managed to pull off this year.

Uber shared insights about its riders in India, and it is trying to connect with each rider with a personalised interactive video. Uber users can simply log in with their credentials on the Year With Uber website and take a trip down memory lane through your Uber trip history. If you wante to check all those rides you've taken, this is a fun way to do so as Uber does the heavy-lifting for you.

The videos have unique music and scenes informed by riders' riding patterns. There are over 5,000 possible story combinations, so it's unlikely you'll have the same video as your friend. When we attempted creating the feature, the website took extremely long just to load, so users can expect some delay there.

"It's not only the use of individual statistics that makes each rider's visualization unique, but also the way these are matched to visuals and lyrics to build the story of how you moved throughout 2017," Eshan Ponnadurai, director of brand and strategy for APAC at Uber, said, according to The Drum.

Besides connecting with users on a personal level, Uber also shared some of its achievements in 2017. Check out the infographics below:

"In 2017, we were focused on moving from a startup to a sustainable business in India. As a result, we recorded double-digit growth and continue to clock over a million trips a day. With a vision to decongest cities, we launched products that encourage ridesharing and complement public transportation through reliable first/last mile connectivity. We are excited to see Uber become a preferred mode of commute, leapfrogging car ownership in India. A big thank you to our riders and driver partners for being a part of our journey," Amit Jain, President, Uber India, and South Asia, said in a statement.
