Looks like two wheeler lovers in India will finally get a chance to press the throttle of the highly anticipated YZF-R3 soon. In what seems to be good sign, the company has started testing its sportsbike in India.

Motoroids reader Tushar Mishra managed to capture the first glimpse of Yamaha YZF-R3 on Indian roads while the model was undergoing its test in the country with UP16 registration. Yamaha imported two R3 models recently to India and this spotted prototype is believed to be one of that. Although the launch details of Yamaha YFZ-R3 are still under wraps, the news of the sighting of the model in India will be music to the ears of biking enthusiasts.

As far as the features and style of R3 are concerned, powered by a 320cc inline twin-cylinder DOHC engine which can pump out 42 PS of power and 29.6 Nm of torque, the sportsbike comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bike R3 can attain a top speed of 187 kmph and can accelerate 0-60 kmph in 2.89 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 6 seconds.

Stopping power comes from 298 mm disc up front and a 220 mm disc at the rear and the bike gets telescopic forks in the front and monoshock at the rear. When launched in India, Yamaha R3 is likely to be priced around 3.3 lakh.
