Lava's subsidiary company Xolo is reported to launch NVIDIA's Tegra 3 based gaming centric smartphone - Xolo Play, in a few weeks time.

The company has updated its official website with a flashy picture of Xolo Play with the tagline - "Are You Game?, STEP UP THE NEXT LEVEL OF GAMING". Xolo has also released the specifications of the upcoming phone, but is still tight lipped about details on price and actual release date.

News website, NDTV claims that the new Xolo gaming smartphone will be released next week on 15 July for ₹15,999 in a matter of weeks from now. 

Xolo Play sports a 4.7-inch IPS OGS (One Glass Solution) screen with HD (720x1280p) resolution having pixel density of 312 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on Android v4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS.

Under the hood, the phone packs NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor paired with 416MHz 12-core GeForce graphics engine. It houses 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB.

It is to be noted that Xolo had launched the first Intel powered smartphone X900 in 2012, and now the company is all set to release the first ever NIVIDIA based handset (Xolo Play) in India.
