Xiaomi, which is synonymous with its value-for-money smartphones in India, is poised to make inroads into the home appliance business with the launch of the Air Purifier 2 on September 21.
The latest second generation Air Purifier is one of the very well-designed air cleaners in the market. It's compact and the machine is easy to carry in between rooms in the home. It measures 240 x 240 x 520 mm in size and weighs 4.8kgs with the filter inside.
It boasts three-side intake valves, and on top, it is fitted with airplane engine-inspired fan to push air upwards allowing smooth circulation of purified air in the room.
It can be on 24/7, as it consumes only 4.8W energy.
As far as the filter inside the purifier is concerned, it is cylindrical in shape consisting three layers- PET primary filter, HEPA (High-efficiency Particulate Arrestance) filter and an activated carbon absorption filter.
Another notable value-added feature of Air Purifier 2 is that it can be controlled by smartphone remotely from anywhere via Mi Home app. It also comes with auto, night and favourites modes, where a user can adjust speed of the fan depending on room's area.

Xiaomi's Mi Purifier 2 costs Rs. 9,999 and will be available for purchase on Mi.com from September 26 onwards.
Besides the new Mi Purifier 2, Xiaomi also launched the new fitness tracker Mi Band 2 for Rs. 1,999.
It boasts OLED display with touch button. By tapping the button, user can alternatively view step counts, time and heart rate right from the wrist, a huge improvement over the first generation model, where he/she had to pair with the smartphone to view the statistics. Mi Band 2 will be available on Amazon India and Mi.com at 12:00 am from September 27 onwards.
