Unveiled in late August in China, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is expected to be launched in India early next year.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 successor will probably be made available in the country around mid-January 2017. Unlike the Chinese variant, which houses MediaTek Helio X20 SoC (System-on-Chip), the India-bound model will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core CPU + Adreno 506 GPU. The rest of the specifications, such as the screen, RAM, camera and battery capacity, are expected to be the same as seen in the original model.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is expected to be priced at Rs 11,999 in India, MakTech Blog reported, citing sources.

The rumours are likely to come true since the release of Redmi Note 4 is long overdue. Usually, the mid-range phones are replaced with newer models almost every six months.

Its predecessor, the Redmi Note 3, was released in India way back in March and it received tremendous positive response among customers. Xiaomi sold more than 2.3 million units and went on to become the highest selling (via online) device in India.

That's probably why Xiaomi continued to sell the Redmi Note 3 in India for several more months. Currently, the company's e-commerce partners, Flipkart and Amazon India, are showing out-of-stock notice on their Redmi Note 3 landing pages, and even Xiaomi's very own e-shop, Mi.com/in, is selling select colour and storage variants, hinting that it is clearing the stocks to launch its successor.

Why Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will come with Qualcomm SoC
The Chinese company is embroiled in a court battle with Swedish telecommunication firm Ericsson over patent infringement.

Even Redmi Note 3, which was launched in China in late December 2015, came with MediaTek processor, but the model bound for India was re-fitted with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 series processor.

We believe that Xiaomi will have similar plans for Redmi Note 4 before releasing it in India.
