Xiaomi launched its feature-heavy Redmi Note 2 in China last month, but refused to share details on the handset's international availability. This left many fans disappointed and they turned to rival smartphones such as Lenovo K3 Note. Xiaomi's hands are tied with legal restrictions when it comes to launching the Redmi Note 2 in India, but a third-party online retailer can overcome those hurdles.

As it appears, GearBest is accepting orders for Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 from around the world with free standard shipping. This is great news for those who will probably never see the Redmi Note 2 powered by a 64bit 2.2GHz Octa Core Mediatek Helio X10 chipset in India. This is due to Xiaomi's legal conflicts with Ericsson, which resulted in a brief ban on sales of Xiaomi smartphones recently. To avoid any legal attention, Xiaomi must use a different processor in the Redmi Note 2 before selling in India. Doing so may not yield the best attraction for the handset.

GearBest is willing to ship the unlocked Redmi Note 2 to anywhere in the world by charging $205.85 (Rs. 13,650) per unit. Xiaomi launched the handset in China for $157(Rs. 10,400), but it is clearly impossible to match that pricing if GearBest if exporting the handset to another country.

If you plan on ordering the Redmi Note 2 in India, act fast as pre-order requests are filling fast. GearBest is offering both black and white variants of the handset and requires buyers to complete the order by making a payment. Once confirmed, the retailer won't charge the customer until 3-5 business days before dispatch.

As for the handset's specs, Redmi Note features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 401ppi, 13MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, 5MP front snapper, 3,060mAh battery and 4G LTE support. Pairing with the processor is a 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The handset runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top.

GearBest will start shipping the orders after 16 September, which is when the pre-sale period ends. The retailer has received 483 orders out of 500 since 18 August.
