Budget smartphones are quite popular in India and there are a few favourite brands like Xiaomi, Motorola, Micromax, Intex, Panasonic and many others offering customers great value for money products. Now you can add one more to that list and it's a brand "crafted for Amazon".

10.or (pronounced Tenor) has launched its third smartphone in India called 10.or D and it takes the competition in the ultra-affordable smartphone range to a whole new level. Rivalling directly against Xiaomi Redmi 5A, 10.or D comes with an effective price tag of either Rs 4,999 for a base model and Rs 5,999 for the 3GB RAM variant. The mystery is yet to be revealed.

10.or D is likely to strike immense interest among budget shoppers in the country. But the sale of the handset will commence on January 5 exclusively on Amazon. Since the smartphone brand falls under Amazon's portfolio, Amazon Prime members get an extra 1-year warranty on the device.

Besides the challenging price tag, 10.or shares many features with Xiaomi Redmi 5A and even surpasses it with some extras. For instance, 10.or D boasts a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which the company claims can unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds, and it's a feature missing from the Redmi 5A.

On the other hand, 10.or D comes with a 3,500mAh battery, which is a step-up compared to the Redmi 5A's 3,000mAh unit. Much like Xiaomi's "Desh Ka Smartphone", 10.or D comes in two variants – 2GB RAM+16GB storage and 3GB RAM+ 32GB ROM. But buyers of 10.or D save Rs. 1,000 on their purchase against the Redmi 5A.

As far as the comparisons go, 10.or D comes with a slightly bigger 5.2-inch display with 1280x720 pixel resolution, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front snapper and a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset.

10.or D supports dual SIM cards and also has a dedicated microSD slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, OTG support and a microUSB port for charging. If you're in flux about which phone to buy, IBTimes India will be getting hands on the newly-launched phone soon, so stay tuned for the review.
