The long-rumoured Xiaomi Mi5, which has been due for launch for almost six months will finally see the light of the day next month, says the new report from China.
Technology blog, Gizmo China has revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will debut on 21 January and hit stores in February.
There is no proof to validate the claims, but we believe this is likely to turn true as the report is line with previous rumours which indicated Xiaomi Mi5 will be unveiled in early 2016.
It has been widely reported that the delay in Xiaomi Mi5 launch was due to the non-availability of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.
Last month, the American chipset maker, during the official unveiling of Snapdragon 820, had said that the processor would be incorporated only in flagship devices slated for release in 2016.
Another reason for the delay is attributed to the disagreement between Xiaomi and Qualcomm over the payment of royalties for the 3G/4G modem license.
In a quick turn of events, both the companies ironed out their differences this month. Xiaomi formally agreed to sign the contract with Qualcomm on 2 December.
With all things falling in place, we believe Xiaomi is ready to pull the wraps off the Mi 5.
In a related development, an image of a Xiaomi device alleged to be of the Mi 5 has surfaced online revealing the key design elements of device.
In the image, now available with Gizmo China, the Xiaomi Mi5 is seen featuring trademark Mi logo on the left top corner with single grill speaker at the centre and a front-camera to its right side.
If we look down, we see the rectangular shaped physical home button with two capacitive buttons- one 'back' key on the left side and another 'overview' key placed to the right side. It is believed that Xiaomi Mi5's home button will house the finger-print sensor.
As of now, Xiaomi has not responded to the media. Stay tuned for more updates.
