Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new phablet called the Mi Note 2, and it is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2016 or by the end of this year. The successor of the Mi Note that was released in January 2015 is expected to have a screen smaller to the yet-to-be launched Mi Max. Now, it has emerged that the device will come in three variants, one of which will have a 6GB RAM.

The Chinese smartphone maker is tight-lipped on the new device but MobiPicker has reported citing sources from China that the Mi Note 2 will sport a 5.7-inch Full HD screen, and the top model is expected to feature a 2K dual curved display and a Force Touch support.

The report claimed that the 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM model will come with a price tag of 2,499 Yuan (around $376), while the 64GB internal memory and 6GB RAM variant will be priced at 2,999 Yuan (around $451), and the 128GB internal storage and 6GB RAM variant with curved display at 3,499 Yuan ($526).

The same website had earlier reported that the base model of the Mi Note 2 will feature a single camera on the back, Hi-Fi audio, and a battery with quick charge technology, while standard variant will have Hi-Fi audio, a dual camera, and a quick battery charge feature. It went on to say that the curved screen model will have dual cameras, Hi-Fi Lite, and fast charging technology.

There are also reports that the 32GB storage variant will mount a 16MP main camera, and the upper two variant to have a dual 12MP rear cameras. The handsets are expected to be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, house a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, and support fingerprint scanner, NFC, infrared, and Hi-Fi audio.

It may be mentioned that the Xiaomi Mi Note that was released earlier last year has a 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (386 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat, a 16/64GB internal memory, and a 3GB RAM. It also features a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, OIS, autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, a 4MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 3,000mAh battery.
