Xiaomi's budget smartphone Redmi Note 3 took Indian and Chinese markets by storm right under the nose of the flagship device, the Mi 5. But it appears like the big screen Mi Max that was released two months ago did better in terms of sales, at least that's what an analyst has claimed.

The Chinese technology giant might have sold over 1.5 million units of the Mi Max in the last two months, according to analyst Kevin Wang, (via GizmoChina) who claimed that he arrived at the "figure from the view point of supply chain." Xiaomi hasn't come out with sales details of the handset but its CEO Lei Jun has shared Wang's post.

Interestingly, it was reported that a total of 600,000 units of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 were sold in two months. On the other hand, the Mi Max reportedly received 8 million registrations ahead of its first flash sale, giving a clear hint that it would sell like hot cake.

Xiaomi Mi Max comes in three variants, one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650, 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM priced at 1499 Yuan (Rs 14,999/around $230), the other one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652, 64GB internal memory and 3GB RAM with a price tag of 1699 Yuan (Rs. 19,999/around $260), and a third model with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652, 128GB inbuilt memory and 4GB RAM priced at 1999 Yuan (approximately $308/Rs. 20,400).

The device is Xiaomi's biggest mobile phone so far. It features a fingerprint sensor, sports a 6.44-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (342 ppi pixel density), measures 173.1x88.3x7.5 mm in dimension, and weighs 203g.

Under the hood, Xiaomi Mi Max has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650/Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, an MIUI 8 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, a 32/64/128GB internal memory expandable up to 200GB via microSD card, and a 3/4GB RAM. It features 16MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 4,850mAh battery.

The device supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB v2.0 and USB Host.
