After months of speculations, Xiaomi finally took the wraps-off the new Mi Note 2 in Beijing.

The new Mi Note 2 comes with huge upgrade in almost aspects including build quality, design language and internal hardware. It boasts high-grade 7 series aluminium body and comes with curved 3D glass shield on both front and back side. It not only increases the durability, but also provides true premium finish.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inch flexible OLED-based dual-edge curved screen with 2K resolution and it is also the first Mi series phone to come with just one physical button (home) on the front. Previous iterations used to have capacitive-based buttons on the chin.

Now, in the new phone, the 'back' and the 'recents' buttons are incorporated in to the display itself and the physical home button will double up as the fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 also supports 6 types of 4G-LTE networks and all 37 bands across the world. It also boasts NFC (Near Field Communication)-based cashless transaction, hinting the device might debut in the US.

Under the hood, the Mi Note 2 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage and a 4.070mAh battery.

Besides the new Mi Note 2, the company also unveiled a new Mi Concept phone dubbed as the Xiaomi Mi Mix.

It is developed in collaboration with globally acclaimed designer Philippe Starck. 6.4-inch Xiaomi Mix boasts advanced black display technology, which offers edgeless viewing experience with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, no other handset in the market boast this feature.

Another highlight of the Mi Mix is that it boasts ceramic body including the frame, and the side buttons. Seamless connectors fuse Mi Mix's body without any external adhesives, the company claimed.

Other stipulated features include ultrasonic proximity sensor, Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology, Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor backed by 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, 4,400mAh battery with quick charge 3.0 technology, HD audio quality (192kHz / 24-bit resolution) and 16MP primary camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus).

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes in three variant, two for Chinese market-- 4GB RAM+64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for ¥2799 (approx. $415/€379/Rs. 27,720) and ¥3299 (approx. $487/€448/Rs. 32,558), respectively.

Another third model for global markets with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage will set you back by ¥3499 (approx. $516/€475/Rs. 34,537).

It will be made available in two colour options-- Piano Black and Glacier Silver.

On the other hand, the Mi Mix model (4GB + 128GB) costs ¥3499 (around $517/€475/Rs. 34,549) and Mi Mix Pro with 18 karat gold rim (6GB + 256GB) will cost ¥3999(approx. $590/€543/Rs.39, 495)

All the newly launched Xiaomi phones are expected to be made available in China in November and will be released later in other markets.
