Xbox's Major Nelson has finally released the names of fresh gaming titles that will be part of the January list that are Xbox One Backward Compatible. Since November 2014, after Microsoft introduced this feature in Xbox One, the users have waited eagerly every month for the announcement.

Major Nelson mentioned in his post that Xbox players have logged in over 21 million hours to play Xbox One Backward Compatibility games.

It was announced that unlike previous months when the gaming titles were announced every month, now titles will be announced as soon as they become available. So, there will no scope for any "set monthly launch date" announcements. This will also mean that fans do not have to wait a whole month to get a title, when it was ready for weeks. So, Xbox will be dishing out these games as it gets "stamp of approval" from the engineers and the publishers.

Further, it noted the creation of a dedicated page for Xbox One Backward Compatibility.

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility catalog has over 100 games that lets Xbox One users to play Xbox 360 games on their platform.

Counter-Strike: GO, Soulcalibur and The Witcher 2 are the headliners of the new announcement.
