While the film is yet to hit the floors, new updates from the film's preproduction table are making their way out of the production room. It has now been revealed that the X-Men: New Mutants will not necessarily be the same title that will be used during the release.

The film's working title is now called Growing Pains. It is sort of apt for the storyline as the film will deal with new mutants who will be seen attending Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

According to Comicbook.com, the film will revolve around four new comers namely Cannonball, Sunspot, Wolfsbane, and Magik. It is also said that the movie will watch the mutants fighting against their first villain, Demon Bear. In the comics, the fictional villain has appeared in two series: The New Mutants and X-Force. Fans will be interested in watching how Marvel will bring the comic book character to life.

The teenage mutant movie is expected to begin filming next month. It has been speculated that the film will be shot in Boston and Montreal. The film was officially announced by the director on the occasion of his birthday on Instagram.

The casting details are yet to be revealed however, Comicbook.com reports, and a number of names are being speculated. Several reports suggest Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams is being considered for the role of Wolfsbane while Nat Wolff may play Canonball. James McAvoy may reprise his role as Professor Xavier in the spinoff. Alexandra Shipp has been approached to play her role as Storm.

This is not the only X-Men movie that Marvel will be focusing on. The studio will be busy wrapping Deadpool 2 that releases few months after the New Mutants followed by X-Men: Dark Phoenix that will release by the end of 2018.

X-Men: New Mutants will hit theatres on April 13, 2018.
