Backlash 2017 is set to take place today featuring superstars from the SmackDown Live event with a total of eight matches scheduled to take place. The WWE championship, the WWE SmackDown Tag Team championship and the WWE United States Championship are all on the line.

Two of the most awaited matches tonight will definitely be the match between Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship and Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles for the WWE United States Championship.

The match between Orton and Mahal is one match that we certainly can't predict. Mahal hasn't had a singles match on a WWE PPV all year, but will have a chance to prove himself on the big stage against one of the best wrestlers in Orton.

The other title match sees The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) taking on the team of Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team championship. Breezango won a Beat the Clock challenge defeating The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) in a shorter time compared to the American Alpha's win over The Colons to become the number one contenders.

Backlash 2017 also marks the in-ring debut of Shinsuke Nakamura who will go up against the experienced Dolph Ziggler. The two have been having a feud ever since the Japanese wrestler made his main roster debut in SmackDown in April. Nakamura will have a lot to prove tonight after Ziggler said he was not a real competitor since he had not done anything on the main roster yet.

Former Wyatt members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are also set to face off in a singles match. The two had a match on SmackDown earlier which Rowan won but he said although he defeated Harper he felt that Harper deserved more punishment and wanted another match against him to which Commissioner Shane McMahon said yes.

Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn are also set to continue their rivalry at Backlash and the final match sees a Six-woman tag team match taking place. Naomi, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch will team up to take on The Welcoming Committee (Natalya, Carmella, and Tamina) along with James Ellsworth. The pre-show match sees Tye Dillinger taking on Aiden English in a singles match.
