Hundreds of activists from the Women Against State Pension Inequality urged Theresa May to make major retirement fund reforms, as the Conservatives gathered for the third day of their annual party conference in Birmingham today (4 October).

IBTimes UK filmed the demonstration as the women chanted shame on you, shame on you and Mrs May, time to pay just yards from a fringe event area next to the International Conference Centre in Britains second city.

Some of the protesters walked along Broad Street, while others approached the security fence around the event, getting within touching distance of some Tory delegates inside. But despite its noisy nature, the demonstration was peaceful.

The activists, some dressed in purple, white and green of the suffragette movement, warned the decision to equalise state pension age between men and women in 1995 means women in their 50s now could been left up to £40,000 ($50,998) out of pocket, as the legislation comes into force between 2010 and 2020.
