Ambareesh's removal from Siddaramaiah's cabinet has led to protests in his hometown Mandya. Sandalwood too threw its weight behind the actor-turned-politician by observing bandh on Monday, June 20.

Many producers, including K Manju, have announced the cancellation of the shooting of their films and declared that they will be holding a silent protest against the Congress party's decision to drop Ambareesh from the cabinet. They rally behind him citing that the actor remained one of the clean ministers in the present government and it was unfair to drop him from the government.

Meanwhile, another actor-turned-politician Jaggesh, who was considered to be a close aide of Ambareesh at one point of time, has accused a woman to be behind his ouster. Without naming the person, he has claimed on his Facebook page that he had forewarned Ambi about her a few years ago but the former Housing Minister took her lightly and ignored her, finally paying the price for it.

However, some reports on TV cite that the woman is from his home constituency with whom Ambareesh had serious differences in the past.

On the other hand, Ambareesh has accepted the party's decision with dignity. "I never asked to be in the Cabinet. They made me a minister... They have the liberty of removing me from the Cabinet... I am happy either ways, as I have served the people for three years. I have never aspired for anything," Ambareesh was quoted by IndiaToday after losing the post.

Meanwhile, Ambareesh's wife and actress Sumalatha is also not happy with the latest development and she has expressed her emotions on her Twitter page. She wrote, "Being non-corrupt, straight forward & honest might not win todays battle...but time will prove the ultimate winner in any war. [sic]"

Reports say that Ambareesh was sacked due to his failing health and also the government was not satisfied with his overall performance.
