The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt finally has its new DLC pack in the form of Hearts of Stone. While the original game was already one of the most addictive things around in the industry, the new DLC looks to up the tempo a bit, thanks to the newly scattered weapons and armour across the game.

While there are different gears in the game to take note of, the most influential of them is the Witcher gear. Each set is known to provide different perks depending on what school of the Path they belong to. And with Hearts of Stone, the players now have the opportunity to acquire School of the Viper gear.

In case you didn't know, Hearts of Stone main quest Open Sesame allows the players to acquire diagrams for the armour, but at the end of the mission, there's another such diagram for a weapon that's not really known.

When in the vault at the end of the quest, after you've pledged allegiance to one of the Borsodi brothers and made your final decisions, you'll be able to loot the second room of the vault. If not anything, be sure to at least loot the chest to the right of the House of Maximilian. Inside this chest, you will find an item called Diagram: Viper Venomous Steel Sword.

This requires level 39 to wield, though it comes with a 15% chance to inflict poison, bonus damage, increased critical chance and damage, and increase to Aard intensity. Unfortunately, it does not pierce armour.

But once you have it, go to a blacksmith to get this weapon crafted. Make sure you have the proper materials first. You'll need:

  • 2 Leather Scraps
  • 2 Dark Steel Ingots
  • 1 Monster Brain
  • 2 Emerald Dust
