If you think the buzz about Rajinikanth doing an item number in Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's film "Talaash" didn't set your eye balls rolling, here is some far more exciting news about the legend's much-anticipated film "Kochadaiyaan".

Speculations are rife that the Tamil movie may release on his birthday which is on December 12. The film which was expected for a Diwali release may debut on the special day 12.12.2012, which is the last of its kind in this century.

According to a Times of India report, the makers of the film have decided to launch the movie's audio in Tokyo, Japan.

The southern superstar has a large fan base in Japan, especially after the release of his Tamil movie "Muthu" in 1998. The actor's latest movie "Robot" (Endhiran in Tamil) also ran housefull in theatres across the country.

Adding more to the exciting news is that the satellite rights to "Kochadaiyaan" have been sold to the Tamil channel Jaya TV, the mouth piece channel of the ruling AIADMK party in Tamil Nadu.

Film's director Soundarya Ashwin shared the happy news on her Twitter page. "Hey guys... excited to announce... Kochadaiyaan tamil satellite rights have been acquired by JAYA TV :)" she wrote.

The film's makers have also signed a deal with a leading mobile manufacturing company. A source told TOI that around 500,000 mobile phones will include behind-the-scene clippings from the film and its trailer. Rajinikanth's autograph will be displayed on each of the phones' back covers.

Apparently, the film has raised huge expectations amongst Rajini's fans worldwide especially after the success of his recent hit "Robot", which hit amazing records in the overseas market.

Rajini's fans are eagerly waiting to see him in the movie, after posters showing the actor flaunting his six-pack abs were unveiled a few months back.

The film industry was also abuzz with the leaked storyline of "Kochadaiyaan". The story is said to be about a war among three kings that spans across generations.

Rajinikanth is reportedly playing a dual-role as father and son in the movie. He along with actors Jackie Shroff and Nassar are playing the three kings.

While the senior Rajini fights against Shroff, the junior Rajini will fight against Aadhi (Shroff's son). Sarath Kumar plays Nassar's son in the film.

"Kochadaiyaan" is said to be the first film in India to use motion capturing techniques in 3D similar to the likes of Hollywood films like "Avatar" and "The Adventure of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn."

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will be seen pairing with Rajinikanth, while Oscar winning music director A.R. Rahman will set the score for the film. After the film, Rajinikanth will star in "Rana", a historical action film which is said to be a sequel to "Kochadaiyaan".
