Will Smith has been a prominent figure in the pop culture since the late 1980s. He rose to stardom with his role in and as "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Since then, there has been no looking back for the 47-year-old actor who has starred in a number of movies that were box office hits.

However, Smith had his share of failures. While movies such as "Independence Day" and "Men in Black" established his fame, others such as "Wild Wild West" and "After Earth" failed to impress the audience.

Smith's highs outweigh his lows. Here are his top five on-screen moments:

Father and son motivation in "Pursuit of Happyness"

One of the best moments was when Chris Gardner (Will Smith) advised his son never to listen to the doubters and go after what he desires, saying: "Don't ever let somebody tell you that you can't do something. Not even me. People can't do something themselves, they want to tell you that you can't do it."

The allergic reaction in "Hitch"

This hilarious scene is a reminder to all those who have an allergy and don't care much about the food they eat.

Please say hello to a legend in "I Am Legend"

This movie was undoubtedly one of Smith's best ones. This particular scene proved that apart from having the ability to play comedy, Smith is equally skilled in playing serious and emotional roles. When his dog Sam died in the movie, Smith went fully insane and raided the zombie-infested city.

Handling the Noisy Cricket in "Men in Black"

The response of Agent J (Smith) was priceless when he was given a mini gun by his partner Agent K in the movie. Later in the movie, J finds out the real power of the weapon that looked like a squirt gun initially.

"You down with OPP?" in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"

In the 1990 hit TV series, Smith surprised the bank's residence while doing the Na-Na to OPP in the driveway next to his newly bought car. This was one of the most iconic scenes from the series and catapulted Smith to stardom.
