Lenovo-owned Motorola has released two devices, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4, with impressive specifications but it seems they will have to compete with each other in the market, besides rival handsets. The fact that the price difference between the two siblings is almost negligible could confuse consumers.

Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 share several features, including a 5.5-inch display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, and a a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo charger.

However, the devices differ in terms of storage and camera. The Moto G4 comes packed with a 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card), a 2GB RAM, a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, and a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.2 aperture.

On the other hand, Moto G4 Plus has a 16/32GB internal storage and 2/3GB RAM with expandable memory up to 256GB via microSD card. It has a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, OmniVision Pure Cel Plus sensor, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and dual-LED flash, and a 5MP camera with wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture.

The biggest difference between the Moto G4 Plus and the Moto G4 is the camera. Interestingly, DxOMark, which is known for mobile phone camera review, has rated Moto G4 Plus camera higher than a few flagship smartphones like the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and Samsung Galaxy S5.

However, there is not much price difference between the two devices. Moto G4 comes with a price tag of Rs. 12,499, while the Moto G4 Plus is priced at Rs 13,499 for the 16GB storage and 2GB RAM, and Rs. 14,999 for 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM model. This means Moto G4 Plus is priced just Rs. 1,000 more than the Moto G4 despite noticeable difference in storage and camera.

Will prospective buyers opt to pay Rs. 1,000 more for the Moto G4 Plus with better camera or buy its sibling Moto G4? We can't say, but the devices are very likely to each into each other's business.
