KV Anand's "Anegan" will hit the screens worldwide on 13 February. While Dhanush's fans are curiously waiting to see what the film has to offer, traders are eager to see how the movie will perform on the opening day.

"Anegan" is a romantic-thriller produced by Kalapathi S Aghoram. Amyra Dastur and Aishwarya Devan are playing the female lead roles.

Traders are looking forward to see whether this Dhanush starrer manages to break the opening day box office records of the recent big movies, like Vijay's "Kaththi", Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" and Vikram's "I" at the worldwide box office.

"Kaththi" Opening Day Business
Vijay's "Kaththi", which was released last Diwali, was his career's biggest opening. The total worldwide gross of the movie was ₹23.80 crore. In Tamil Nadu, the movie had earned around ₹12 crore. This was purportedly the third biggest opening in the history of Kollywood box office.

"Lingaa" First Day Box Office
Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" opened up to a thunderous response worldwide as the movie, with its two versions, went on to make about ₹37 crore worldwide and created history by becoming the biggest opening of all time in the Tamil film industry. The KS Ravikumar's movie earned ₹12.8 crore on the release day in Tamil Nadu alone.

"I" Release Day Box Office
Vikram's "I" had earned ₹34.74 crore on the release day from two versions. It is the second biggest opener after "Lingaa". Surprisingly, this film could rake in only around ₹10 crore despite its exceptionally brilliant worldwide performance.

Now, it has to be seen whether "Anegan" could beat any of these records. This movie of Dhanush is also releasing in other languages and there is a possibility that the film could emerge as a surprise winner, reckon traders.

While beating the total worldwide gross seems to be an uphill task for "Anegan", the Dhanush starrer has a good chance of beating any of the aforementioned movies at the domestic box
