Adam Sandler's "Grown Ups 2" is this year's most nominated picture for the Golden Raspberry Awards or Razzies, as popularly known, where Hollywood's worst pictures are recognized.

The Razzies nominations were announced on Wednesday, one day before the Academy Awards nominations, and "Grown Ups 2" leads the pack with eight nominations. The movie, which was heavily panned by critics, has been nominated in the Worst Picture, Worst Sequel, Worst Ensemble, Worst Screenplay, Worst Lead Actor, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Supporting Actress, and Worst Director categories.

This is not the first time Sandler is being nominated for the Razzies. In 2011, he set a record of sorts when his cross-dressing comedy "Jack and Jill" bagged 10 awards. Interestingly, Sandler won awards for worst actor as well as actress.

Johnny Depp made his Razzies debut for his role as an eccentric Indian in Gore Verbinski's "The Lone Ranger". The movie, a commercial flop, is also up for worst picture, worst director, and worst screenplay.

Three of Sylvester Stallone's movies - "Bullet to the Head", "Escape Plan" and "Grudge Match" - have found a place in this year's Razzies nominations.

Jaden Smith and Ashton Kutcher have also been nominated in the worst actor category for their roles in "After Earth" and "Jobs", respectively.

The worst actress nominees are Halle Berry (The Call and Movie 43), Selena Gomez (Getaway), Lindsay Lohan (The Canyons), Tyler Perry (A Madea Christmas) and Naomi Watts (Diana and Movie 43).

This year's annual Golden Raspberry Awards will be held on March 1, one day before the 86th Annual Academy Awards.
