Shah Rukh Khan recently held a big bash for his industry friends on the eve of Eid.

Most of the Bollywood personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Alia Bhatt made their presence felt at the bash. Some big names including Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra were missing at the party scene.

Surprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" co-star Deepika Padukone was also not seen at the party. The Bollywood fraternity was wondering as to why the pretty lady, who was seen alongside SRK during "Chennai Express" promotional activities, gave the event a miss.

Apparently, Deepika preferred to keep up with her work commitments over SRK's Eid bash. The actress was in Milan, Italy, to shoot for a commercial which she had committed to much before "Chennai Express" release. "Deepika had a prior commitment to shoot for an ad in Milan. The shoot had been planned four months ago. Despite her keenness to attend Shah Rukh's party, it was always known that she wouldn't be able to make it. She had informed him about the same," an insider close to Deepika was quoted as saying by Indiaglitz.com.

The "Chennai Express" star, who returned to India only on Monday (12 August), was visibly looking happy and smiled at the press in the airport. She was reportedly in contact with SRK through text messages and was aware of the wonderful response that her new film has received, reported The Times of India.

"Chennai Express" has set the record of the fastest film to have crossed the ₹100-crore mark, beating "Ek Tha Tiger". The film has grossed more than ₹120 crore in just five days and has become the second biggest grosser of 2013 next to "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", which has a lifetime collection of ₹188.57 crore.

Deepika has three of her films in the ₹100-crore club including "Chennai Express", "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Race 2", all of which were released this year. The actress is on a roll following the grand success of her films. She will next be seen in "Ram Leela" and Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiyaan". The actress has also signed for some more projects which are in the pre-production stage.
