Ever since Hrithik Roshan opted out of Karan Johar's "Shuddhi", there have been speculations that Ranveer Singh will replace him as the male lead. However, according to the latest buzz, Ranbir Kapoor and even Shah Rukh Khan are being considered for the project.
Mid-Day reported that the "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" hit jodi Ranbir and Deepika Padukone have been approached for the film, after Hrithik and Kareena Kapoor Khan walked out.
And now there are reports that Shah Rukh is being considered to play the lead role.
"And now comes the news that Shah Rukh Khan who possibly has a most packed calendar of the lot is now a choice after the casting has been done," Emirates 24/7 reported.
While Deepika has cleared the air stating she is yet to be approached for the film, the actors are yet to confirm their status.
SRK is currently busy with three projects: Farah Khan's "Happy New Year", Maneesh Sharma's "Fan" and Rahul Dholakia's "Raees". There has been no confirmation, whether the actor will make comeback to the Johar camp with "Shuddhi".
"Shuddhi", produced by Johar and directed by Karan Malhotra, has been making headlines due to the casting problems. The film was continually postponed because of Hrithik's health issues.
And now since the lead actors walked out, there were even reports that the film would be shelved.
Nonetheless, Johar took to Twitter and cleared the air that the film is one of his most ambitious projects and would not be shelved. He announced the release date of the film on Saturday.
"SHUDDHI will release on Friday the 25th of December, 2015... the Lead cast will be announced shortly," Johar tweeted.
