This year, Shah Rukh Khan hasn't been working as rigorously as he usually does. He's taking his time cherry-picking his projects.

Gauri Shinde's as-yet-untitled project features the superstar in a key role. Even though he isn't in the lead, Shah Rukh plays Alia Bhatt's life coach in the film and apparently has a 30-minute-long screen-time in it.

Reportedly, he has been roped in for another short part in Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor's "OK Jaanu." It is a cameo appearance and is mostly towards the climax of the romantic-drama.

"Karan Johar convinced SRK to do a special appearance in the film's climax. Shah Rukh will be seen with Shraddha and Aditya in a dramatic scene. SRK and ARK will share screen space in this and also Gauri Shinde's next Dear Zindagi starring SRK-Alia in which Aditya has an important role," a source told DNA (as cited by Hindustan Times).

Trivia

This isn't SRK's first special appearance in a Shaad Ali film. In "Saathiya," he played husband to Savitri Rao (Tabu) who critically injures Suhani (Rani Mukerji) in a road accident. "OK Jaanu" is the official remake of Tamil classic "OK Kanmani," which was helmed by Mani Ratnam.

In other news, SRK begins Imtiaz Ali's film with Anushka Sharma in August. He will also re-shoot a few action sequences for "Raees" in the coming months. In 2017, the superstar will begin Aditya Chopra's untitled project, in which he may play a warrior.
