Family, friends, fans, and celebrities thronged the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., on Saturday to mourn and bid good-bye to Whitney Houston, who died Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The sudden and untimely death of Houston, 48, who was recognized by Guinness World Records as the female singer with the most awards in history, shocked her family, fans, and music lovers around the world. She was found dead in a hotel bathtub on the eve of the Grammy Awards show. The cause of her death is not yet known.
