Social media platform Twitter witnessed a rare moment on Tuesday when two global auto players came face to face. In what can be considered a warm gesture from a potential rival, when iconic utility vehicle manufacture Jeep announced its entry into the Indian market, Jaguar Land Rover gave a thumbs-up to the new contender in the Indian auto-market, tweeting,

Welcome JeepIndia ! Hope the Indian outdoors are as fun for you as they are for Land Rover. #JeepNowInIndia."

In response to the tweet, Jeep India said,

Thank you @JLRIndia for the warm welcome. We are here to chase every adventure. #JeepNowInIndia."

The friendly exchange did not go unnoticed, with users of the platform wasting no time to congratulate the car-makers for their unique camaraderie. This is not the first time Twitter has been abuzz with such friendly exchanges between rivals. In March this year, German luxury car-maker Mercedes-Benz took to Twitter to congratulate its arch rival BMW on its centenary celebrations. Mercedes had tweeted, "Happy 100th birthday, @BMW! Here's to another 100 years of competition." Mercedes-Benz even went ahead and posted a video, saying, "Thank you for 100 years of competition, the previous 30 years were actually a bit boring."

Coming back to the Jeep, the American automaker made a grand entry to the Indian market with two models — the Wrangler Unlimited and the Grand Cherokee. While the Wrangler Unlimited is priced at Rs. 71, 59,104, the Grand Cherokee costs in the range of Rs. 93,64,527 to Rs. 1,12,07,825 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The Grand Cherokee is available in three trims — Limited, Summit and the high-powered Grand Cherokee SRT.
