One woman was killed in a clash between workers of Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party early on Sunday morning in Ilambazar area of West Bengal's Birbhum district.

This is not the first time BJP and TMC have involved in clashes. Recently, two people of were injured in a clash between the two political parties.

The turf war between the two parties turned violent on Wednesday, when members of BJP and TMC hurled bombs and fired bullets at each other.

Two similar incidents took place each in October and November last year. In October, three people were killed and four others were injured when members of both the warring parties indulged in clashes at Birbhum's Makra village.

In yet another incident in November, one person was killed and two others were injured when BJP and TMC workers hurled bombs at each other.
