A lot of action was witnessed in the automotive industry in India this week and we are giving you a round-up of the important cars and motorcycles launches that took place during this period. We had as many as six new vehicles, including Hero Splendor Pro, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift , Mahindra Mojo, BMW XM5 and XM6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
New Hero Splendor Pro
Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two-wheeler maker, launched its new Splendor Pro facelift in India on 13 October with a price tag of Rs 46,850 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Powering the new Splendor Pro is the same 97.2cc air-cooled 4 stroke single cylinder APDV engine that is tuned to churn out 8.24bhp of power and 8.05 Nm of torque and the engine comes mated to a four speed gear-box.

Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV
Mercedes-Benz India pulled the wraps off its new GLE SUV in the country. The SUV, which is launched in 250d and 350d variants, have been priced at Rs 58.9 lakh and Rs 69.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
While 250d is powered by in-line, four-cylinder 2143cc diesel engine that develops 204bhp at 3800rpm and 500Nm of torque in the range of 1600-1800rpm, the 350D variant features V6, 2987cc diesel engine that develops 258bhp at 3400rpm and 620Nm of torque starting from 1600rpm. Both engines are mated to an all-new 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox.

BMW X5 M, X6 M
This week, BMW India launched the X5 M and X6 M performance SUVs in India for Rs 1.55 crore and Rs1.60 crore, respectively. The powerful version of the X5 SUV and X6 crossover draw power form 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine that can churn out 567bhp between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 2,200-5,000 rpm an comes mated to standard eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic.

Mahindra Mojo
The long-awaited Mahindra flagship motorcycle, Mojo also made its market debut in India this week at Rs 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle, which is powered by a 292cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, has the capacity to generate 27bhp at 8,000rpm and 30Nm torque at 5,500rpm. The power is transmitted via six-speed constant mesh transmission.

2015 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift
Maruti Suzuki launched the facelift version of the popular Ertiga MPV for a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh for petrol engine and Rs 7.55 lakh for diesel variants, ex-showroom Delhi. The newest avatar of Maruti's popular MPV Ertiga gets 1.4-litre K Series petrol engine and 1.3 multi-jet diesel engines under the hood. The new Ertiga's 1.3 multi-jet diesel engine, developing 89bhp and 200Nm of torque, now gets SHVS small hybrid system that debuted with Ciaz hybrid. The MPV is now tuned to deliver a fuel efficiency of 24.52kmpl in diesel models and 17.5kmpl in petrol variants.
