The episode commenced with Michelle Obama and Jill Biden addressing the audience as they celebrated the 5th anniversary of their Joining Forces initiative. The two talked about their experiences with the troops and their families, and then went on to introduce the top 10 contestants.

Team Pharrell's Daniel Passino, who nearly got eliminated in last week's elimination round, was the first to be called, and performed "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith.

Next was Shalyah Fearing from Team Adam who sang Emeli Sande's "My Kind of Love." Adam Levine praised her performance and said she was excellent, and even requested America to vote for her.

Paxton Ingram from Team Blake was the first one from the team who performed on Monday night. He sang "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" by Celine Dion and received a favourable review from his coach.

Afterwards, Mary Sarah of Team Blake performed "Stand by Your Man" by Tammy Wynette, and Team Christina's Bryan Bautista sang the Spanish song "Promise" by Romeo Santos and Usher.
