The first teaser of Rajesh Pillai's psychological thriller "Vettah" was released at 5 pm on Monday, Feb. 15, by Malayalam music label Muzik247. The movie has Manju Warrier and Kunchacko Boban in the lead.
Manju plays a police commissioner named Sribala and Kunchacko will be seen as Melvin in the thriller, which marks the comeback of the couple after their blockbuster film "How Old Are You." Manju's character in the upcoming movie is said to be realistic, unlike the usual on-screen bold cops the audience are familiar with. The director had earlier revealed that the movie was inspired by women police officers like Sandhya IPS, Sreelekha IPS and Nishantini IPS.
A few days ago, Manju had released her first-look poster from the film as a police officer, and it was well accepted by the audience.
"Vettah," which narrates the story of three people, has been scripted by Arunlal Ramachandran. While Anishlal RS has handled the cinematography, the editing has been done by Abhilash Balachandran. It is one of the much-awaited projects in Malayalam, being the fifth project of Rajesh Pillai, who is known for his films "Traffic" (2011) and "Mili" (2014).
The movie also has Indrajith Sukumaran, Sandhya, Vijayaraghavan, Prem Prakash, Deepak Parambol, Kottayam Nazeer, Dr Rony and Santhosh Keezhattoor in significant roles. Produced by Haneef Mohammad under the banner of Red Rose Creations in association with Rajesh Pillai Films, "Vettah" is expected to hit the screens on Feb. 26.
