In a heartwarming video that is doing the rounds on social media, a stray dog is seen seeking the help of a traffic cop to cross a busy road.

The video shows a dog waiting next to the cop, who is monitoring the traffic on the road. After sometime, the cop is seen blocking the vehicles to let the dog cross over to the other side. 

The kind act by the traffic police has been appreciated by netizens, who even called him a "great man" and a "real human".

"If every human can replicate this compassion, this world would be a great place to live in. salute to you sir," Sundeep Singh, a social media user, said on Facebook.

Meanwhile another netizen Jaisinh Sisodia says that it is a heartwarming police story for a change, and calls him a law abiding citizen.

The video, uploaded on Facebook by 'Staring at Infinity' on 1 August, has been viewed more than 2.4 lakh times at the time of reporting.
