Gallaghers returned on Showtime with the season 6 premiere of "Shameless" on Sunday, 10 January. With "I Only Miss Her When I'm Breathing," many questions we had regarding the Gallaghers were answered.
Frank (William H Macy) is still mourning the death of his late ex-girlfriend Bianca (Bojana Novakovic); Debbie is pregnant with boyfriend Derek's (Lucas Oriel) baby; Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is pursuing the complicated relationship with her boss Sean (Dermot Mulroney); Chukkie (Kellen Michael) is still in juvenile prison, while his uncle Carl (Ethan Cutkosky), who was responsible for landing him in jail, is let out; and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) is still not ready to get back together with Mickey (Noel Fisher).
In the upcoming episode 2 of season 6, Debbie will be seen trying to convince Fiona that she is mature enough to take care of a baby. She will carry a bag of flour mimicking the popular middle school experiment where children learn the reality of taking responsibility of a child.
Meanwhile, her older brother Lip gets even more tangled in the relationship with his professor, Helena. In the promo for "#AbortiosnRules", Helena's husband is seen asking Lip, "You do understand the only reason you have sex with my wife is because I allow it right?" In the premiere episode, it was revealed that Lip is falling in love with Helena and that he is mixing emotion in a relationship that was meant to be purely sexual.
It is understood that Lip relates this conversation to Helena, who responds with the suggestion that he kill her husband and make it look like an accident. Would Lip follow through with this advice or will the genious Gallaghar be smart enough to know that she is using him?
