Two South Indian sides square off for the first time in the Pro Kabaddi League 2016 on Saturday. Hosts Bengaluru Bulls take on table toppers Telugu Titans in a mouthwatering clash at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium.
Bengaluru Bulls, after a sour start which included two-straight defeats in their home matches this season, earned their first win at home against the Jaipur Pink Panthers on Friday. The inaugural Pro Kabaddi champions were defeated by 10 points, after Bengaluru Bulls dished out a complete team performance on the day.
Amit Rathi displayed his skills once more in the competition as he bagged a total of six points in the match. Apart from him, Ashish Sangwan, Srikanth Tewthia, and Pawan Kumar also performed to the best of their abilities for the Bengaluru Bulls, who now have moved to the fifth place in the table with 10 points from four games.
Telugu Titans, meanwhile, following the completion of their home matches in Vizag, sit at the top with 11 points. Before heading to Kolkata for Bengal Warriors' home leg matches from tomorrow, the Titans will be hoping to making a strong statement in their first and also the last match at Bengaluru this season.
Titans won their fixtures in the Pro Kabaddi League 2016 so far against Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi with contrasting results. While the win over the Pune side came through the narrowest of margins, the Titans defeated Dabang Delhi by as many as 11 points.
Rahul Chaudhary, Sukesh Hegde, Dharmaraj C, Mehraj Sheykh, and D Gopu are star names in the Telugu Titans roster.
For Bengaluru Bulls, the leadership of Surjeet Narwal will once again turn out to be the key today and the home side can be expected to say goodbye to their home fans this season with another victory.
