Two teams who have not been able to hit top gear, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks, are going to fight it out later tonight in the NBA.

Miami has had a mixed season with 20 wins and 25 losses, while they have won five and lost five in their last ten.

But with the playoffs approaching, they need to be on top of their game if they are to feature in postseason. Miami lost their last match against Milwaukee Bucks, 109 to 102.

Though, one of their key players Chris Bosh scored 26 points in the night, they were second best to Bucks.

Bosh will once again be the most important player for the Heat with their star guard, Dwyane Wade set to be out of action for 2-3 weeks.

He pulled his right hamstring in his last outing against Bucks.

This is a huge blow to the Heat, who needs his services to challenge for the playoffs position.

Bosh is helpless as the Heat have to do it without Wade for three weeks or so.

"It really sucks sometimes, but what can you do?" Bosh told ESPN of Wade's latest injury.

"We haven't had our whole team. I just want to play with our whole team, just once. But it's not going to be for [Friday], maybe not for the next couple weeks, but there's nothing we can do about that."

Wade has been troubled with hamstring problems since the start of the season, where he has missed around nine games. "It's not an ideal situation for none of us," Wade said.

"I know our fans are very frustrated. I just want them to know no one is more frustrated than we are. Because I want to be out there."

Dallas Mavericks have not been in sparkling form either, as they have won 30 and lost 17 in the league so far.

But, of late they seem to have hit the wrong gear as they have lost four games in succession, which does not do well to their chances of qualifying for the playoffs , despite lying in the seventh position.

"There's no one answer, but we've got to keep up the collective fight," Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle told the team's official website.

"We all own this. We all own losses, we all own what happens when it's a struggling period of time, and that's why we always say we've got to stick together and fight through it."

Even recent history is against the Mavs, who have not defeated Heat in their last seven meetings.
