In episode 2, Kermit arranges a meeting for Miss Piggy with singer Josh Groban who gives numerous ideas to Miss Piggy for improving her show. In the meantime, Fozzy attends a party at Jay Leno's house.

At the party, Bobby annoys everyone by insisting them to buy some cookies for his daughter's troops.

In the premiere episode of "The Muppets" titled "Pig Girls Don't Cry," the Muppets were working on Miss Piggy's show "Up Late with Miss Piggy." Kermit acted as the executive producer of the show and other Muppets had their own jobs.

Gonzo served as the show's writer while Fozzie did the warm-up comedian act. Dr. Teeth and Electric Mayhem made up for the band.

It was revealed in the episode that Kermit and Miss Piggy broke up outside the theater that was playing "Pitch Perfect 2." Afterwards, when Kermit got Elizabeth Banks' appointment to appear on the show, Miss Piggy got furious and demanded Kermit to ban Banks from the show.

Besides, Kermit has a new love interest, Denise. She is a Muppet who works in the marketing department of Miss Piggy's talk show. It appears that Denise is different from Miss Piggy in a lot of ways.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series' co-creator Bill Prady said that even though Kermit seemed broken and sad after his break up, he will be alright soon.

"I think Kermit is quite put-upon. He has moments of genuine joy and happiness coming up," Prady said.

While the fans were shocked by the news of Miss Piggy and Kermit's breakup, Prady said that he had discussed the separation between these two with the Muppets creator, late Jim Henson, back in 1989.

"We discussed about it and were planning to use that in a campaign called 'Pig of the 90's,'" Prady said, "Henson would have approved of the breakup because I was at meetings with him where we talked about doing it."
